Daimon Robotics (Daimon (Shenzhen) Robotics Technology Co., Ltd.) spun out of robotics research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Founder and CEO Dr. Duan Jianghua and co-founder/chief scientist Professor Wang Yu — founding dean of HKUST's Robotics Institute — built the company around a thesis most humanoid makers underweight: dexterous manipulation requires tactile intelligence, not just cameras and LLMs.

Daimon's core hardware is a millimeter-thick, mass-producible optical tactile sensor that lets robot fingertips perceive 3D force, sliding, texture, and hardness. That feeds into Vision-Tactile-Language-Action (VTLA) manipulation models and the Daimon One humanoid platform (marketed on robixone as Daimon Humanoid) — roughly 170 cm tall, built for fine manipulation rather than warehouse brute force.
