While Figure and Tesla measure output in handfuls and pilots, Unitree did the thing none of them has: it published a price. The G1, launched in 2024, started in the tens of thousands, car money, not house money, and the larger H1 cemented a reputation for aggressive, accessible pricing that embarrassed the rest of the field.

That ability isn't luck. Unitree built a real business on legged quadrupeds, the Go and B-series, sold to universities and developers worldwide before it ever shipped a biped. The humanoids run the same playbook: capable hardware, open enough to program, priced to move volume. If you want to physically own a walking humanoid in 2026, this is the only realistic door.

The catch is what they're for. The G1 and H1 ship as platforms, bodies for researchers and developers to build on, with no consumer app store, no chore library and no home-support promise.
