Figure has already shipped a significant quantity of prior-generation robots into BMW’s Spartanburg plant, and Figure 03 marks the first iteration the company has designed with the home in mind; it is lighter than the Figure 02, has quicker actuators, features fingertips sensitive to three grams of pressure, and its Helix vision-language-action model is entirely built in-house for perception and control. So if you want to put money on a humanoid platform with vertically integrated AI where the AI is built-in house, and a track record of industrial deployment, Figure 03 is a good bet. If you want a robot that works at scale in the home today, with robust consumer support, and an existing owner community, Figure 03 is in its infancy for the consumer space and the first generation of robots will be helping mature its capability in the home.
